To improve working conditions as well as create unique attractiveness for the nursing industry, the minimum wage of this industry has continuously increased sharply in recent times.
1. Minimum salary for the nursing industry in 2022
According to a report by the German Press Agency (DPA), the Nursing Committee of the Federal Government has approved a provision to gradually increase the minimum salary of the nursing profession from September 1, 2022. From this date, The industry's minimum wage increased from 15.00 EUR to 17.10 EUR.
2. Minimum salary for the nursing industry in 2023
According to the above clause, in 2023, the minimum salary of the nursing industry has increased sharply from May 1. Not stopping there, this salary will continue to increase sharply from December 1, 2023. So this year alone, nurses in Germany excitedly welcomed two increases in their income.
The minimum salary in the nursing industry will increase corresponding to the qualifications of the nurses, specifically as follows:
For nursing professionals
For nursing professionals in Germany, the minimum income will increase to 18.25 Euros per hour, corresponding to approximately 3175.5 Euros monthly.
For trained nurses/nursing assistants
Trained nurses/assistants will receive a salary of up to 15.25 Euros per hour, equivalent to 2653.5 Euros per month.
For untrained nursing staff
The minimum wage for untrained nursing staff will also increase to 14.15 Euros per hour, equivalent to 2462.1 Euros monthly.
The salaries mentioned above are all before taxes. However, besides the basic salary, nurses in Germany also receive other non-taxable benefits such as: night shift allowance, overtime allowance, holiday & Sunday allowance, etc. In addition, the holiday regime for nursing staff will increase from the current 26 days per year to 27 days in 2022 and 29 days from 2023 with a 5-day week.
