A Vietnamese High School Graduate, before being accepted to study at a University in Germany, must, in principle, pass the "Feststellungsprüfung - FSP".

A Vietnamese High School Graduate, before being accepted to study at a University in Germany, must, in principle, pass the "Feststellungsprüfung - FSP".

Regarding cultural level, only those who have graduated from Vietnamese High School and have been admitted to a full-time program at a Vietnamese University can participate in Feststellungsprüfung.

German University Preparatory Schools (Studienkolleg) have Preparation Programs for this Feststellungsprüfung exam.

The Feststellungsprüfung for a University (Universität, Technische Universität) is different from the Feststellungsprüfung for a University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule):

 Feststellungsprüfung for a University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule, Fachhochschule)

New Students can prepare for this exam in advance at a University Preparatory School (Studienkolleg) for Universities of Applied Sciences normally for two Semesters. Here, the courses are focused on the future study aspirations of new students.

  • Education course: Prepare for the Arts
  • SW Key: Prepare for the Social Sciences
  • TI Key: Preparation for the Science and Technology Majors
  • WW Key: Preparation for Economic Sciences

The subjects and exam subjects in the Studienkolleg are:

Course:

  • German language,
  • Second Foreign Language (English or French),
  • Third Foreign Language (English or French or Spanish),
  • Information Technology and Informatics.

Education course:

  • German language,
  • Maths,
  • Design, Prototyping,
  • Physics,
  • CAD.

SW Key:

  • German language,
  • Maths,
  • Social Sciences (Education/Psychology, Sociology, Law),
  • Information Technology and Informatics,
  • English.

TI Key:

  • German language,
  • Maths,
  • Natural Sciences subjects,
  • Technical Drawing (including CAD) or Computer Science.

WW Key:

  • German language,
  • Maths,
  • National Economy, Management Economics,
  • Information Technology and Informatics, English.

Besides the above subjects, there are often other subjects related to the field of study.

Feststellungsprüfung can only be retaken once at the same University Preparatory School and at the earliest six months after taking the first exam.

To be admitted to the University Preparatory School, new students must prove through an entrance exam that they are capable of studying the German-taught Program here. This exam may be retaken once, and in some College Preparatory Schools, twice. To prepare for the second exam, some University Preparatory Schools offer intensive preparation courses.

During the period of study at the University Preparatory School, Students are considered full-time students of the University of Applied Sciences to which this University Preparatory School belongs.

 Feststellungsprüfung for a General University (Universität, Technische Universität)

New students can prepare for this exam in advance at a University Preparatory School (Studienkolleg) for regular General Universities for two Semesters. Here, the courses are focused on the future study aspirations of new students.

The exam includes a Theory part and an Question and Answer part.

For all new students, German is a mandatory exam. Students with "Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung" (ZOP), "Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom" (KDS), "Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom" (GDS) Certificates from the Goethe-Institut, "TestDaF-4" or have passed the "Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den" exam Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber" (DSH-2) is exempt from the German language exam.

Theory exam subjects include German and two other key subjects.

Oral exam subjects can include all the core subjects that have been studied. Depending on the regulations of each State, the Feststellungsprüfung may be conducted differently.

At University Preparatory Schools, there are key courses for future University majors as follows:

  • G Key: Prepare for Humanities, Sociology, Fine Arts, Music and German
  • M Key: Prepare for Medicine and Biology Majors
  • Key S: Preparation for Language Majors (except German majors)
  • T-lock: Preparation for Engineering, Mathematics and Natural Sciences (except Biology)
  • W key: Prepare for Economics and Social Sciences

The Theory exam subjects are:

G Key:

  • German language,
  • German or English literature,
  • Sociology/Geography.

M Key:

  • German language,
  • Biology and/or Chemistry,
  • Physics or Math.

Key S:

  • German language,
  • A second foreign language,
  • History or Sociology/Geography or German Literature.

T-lock:

  • German language,
  • Mathematics (including Information Technology),
  • Physics or Chemistry.

W key:

  • German language,
  • Maths,
  • National Economy,
  • Management Economics.

Feststellungsprüfung can only be retaken once at the same University Preparatory School and at the earliest six months after taking the first exam.

New students who want to study at a University Preparatory School often need to register through the Universities they want to study later. That means these new students must apply for University Foundation studies at the University they want to study later.

To be admitted to the University Preparatory School, new students must prove through an entrance exam that they are capable of studying the German-taught Program here. This exam may be retaken once, and in some College Preparatory Schools, twice. To prepare for the second exam, some University Preparatory Schools offer intensive preparation courses. There are University Preparatory Schools that also combine entrance exams with other subjects such as Mathematics.

During the time studying at the University Preparatory School, Students are considered regular students of the General University to which this University Preparatory School belongs.

 German University Preparatory Schools currently organize entrance exams widely in Vietnam

Darmstadt University Preparatory School (Studienkolleg der TU Darmstadt):

  • Entrance exam in Hanoi is approx end of June. Enrolled at Darmstadt in early September of the same year.
  • Entrance exam in Hanoi is approx mid January. Enrolled at Darmstadt in early March of the same year.

University Preparatory School Hamburg (Studienkolleg Hamburg)

request German B2 certificate When applying for the exam:

  • Entrance exam in Hanoi is approx end of May. Enrolled in Hamburg in early August of the same year.
  • Entrance exam in Hanoi is approx end of November. Enroll in Hamburg at the beginning of January next year.

University Preparatory School Kassel (Studienkolleg der Universität Kassel):

  • Entrance exam in Hanoi around end of June. Enrolled in Kassel at the end of September of the same year.

University Preparatory School Nordhausen (Staatliches Studienkolleg Nordhausen):

  • Entrance exam in Hanoi around end of June. Enrolled at Nordhausen in early October of the same year.
