"How many days off per year do you get when studying abroad in Germany?" - This is definitely one of the questions that receives a lot of attention from those who want to participate in the German vocational study abroad program. So let's join Vo Gia Edu to take a look at the number of days off for those studying abroad in Germany!
Paid leave
Vocational students in Germany enjoy all benefits according to German labor law. Normally, students will have from 24 to 31 days of paid leave each year. Most students take advantage of this vacation to return to Vietnam to visit family or travel to countries in the EU.
Paid sick leave
Vocational students will have 60 days off for a total of 3 years ~ equivalent to 20 days/year. However, in this case you will have to have a doctor's note.
Holiday
Germany has a total of 12 holidays a year and of course students will not have to go to school or work on these days. These holidays include:
- New Year's Day (January 1)
- Good Friday (before Easter)
- Easter Monday
- Labor Day May 1
- Ascension Day
- The holiday appears
- Day of German Unification (October 3)
- The December 24 Christmas event is not a holiday. But stores close in the afternoon, so holiday activities can begin.
- Christmas Day and Boxing Day (December 25 and 26) are public holidays
So students studying abroad in Germany can have more than 160 days off per year - equivalent to nearly 1/3 of the days of the year. With days off like this, you can completely refresh yourself after stressful hours of studying and working!
